Age UK Richmond Talk: Navigating the Care Maze

A free talk about navigating the care maze on 5 May at the Twickenham Wellbeing Centre, delivered by Claire from Eldercare Consultant.

Claire is a registered nurse who has experience in both public and private healthcare sectors; eleven years hospital based (where her roles included discharge liaison nurse and senior ward sister) and over 25 years’ experience working as an independent care adviser and nurse assessor for older people.

She is passionate about older people’s rights to informed choice and quality care in an environment of their own choosing and considers herself to be to be very fortunate to have met so many interesting people throughout her career. Claire created her own business Eldercare Consultant in 2017 and works closely with older people and their families, solicitors, financial advisers and care providers to achieve the best possible outcomes for the older person and their unpaid carers. She offers a range of personal and professional services, mostly face to face, guiding older people and their families through the care maze. 

This talk is part of our free Peace of Mind Day. The event is aimed for people over the age of 55 living in the borough of Richmond on Thames.  As well as listening to the free talks, attendees will also have time to speak with other local charities and organisations present on the day, offering further advice and literature on later life planning.
